NOTE - Dead by Daylight Dungeons & Dragon's Chapter is now live!
Dead by Daylight's Chapter 31, All Things Wicked, introduced the new survivor Sable Ward and killer The Unknown. With Tome 18 behind us and a new chapter just ahead, Dead by Daylight is now set to introduce Vecna, AKA The Lich, from Dungeons & Dragons into the game for Chapter 32. Here's everything we know about Chapter 32, when it'll release, and the all-new killer, Vecna.
Dead by Daylight Chapter 32 Release Date
Dead by Daylight's Dungeons & Dragons chapter, Chapter 32, is set to come out on 3 June 2024 at 9AM PT. DBD usually releases a new chapter every few months. The last chapter, All Things Wicked, was released on 12 March 2024.
Vecna Is The Killer In Dead by Daylight Chapter 32
With the return of Stranger Things to Dead by Daylight, many speculated that the Chapter 32 killer could be the iconic villain Vecna. It turns out that that's 100% correct, as Vecna is the newest killer in Dead by Daylight's Chapter 32 - but it's the Dungeons & Dragons version of the character, not the iteration from Stranger Things. Vecna is known in-game as "The Lich."
Vecna's power has four different parts, with each one allowing him a different advantage in chase; one allows him to Fly, for example, while another can block a nearby pallet so survivors can't drop it. You can read all about The Lich's powers, as well as take a look at his more on the link.
Who Is the Survivor for Dead by Daylight Chapter 32?
Although some fans had thought we'd get Eddie Munson or Joyce Byers from Stranger Things. However, since the Vecna we're actually getting is the Dungeons & Dragons version - not the Stranger Things version - there'll be no Stranger Things survivor to accompany him.
That being said, we do get a new survivor in the form of a bard! Players will be able to choose between Aestri Yazar, an Elf, or Baermar Uraz, a Human. Whether you choose the role of Aestri or Baermar, they enter the fray with 3 unique Perks.
- Mirrored Illusion spawns a static copy of the Survivor in front of a Totem, Chest, Generator or Exit Gate for a limited time
- Bardic Inspiration inspires others through a stirring performance. Roll a d20 and fellow Survivors get a Skill Check buff depending on the result of the roll.
- When not in motion, Still Sight lets you briefly see the auras of all close by Generators, Totems, and Chests.
'Forgotten Ruins' is the new map
The setting for this journey lies in the Forgotten Ruins, a thrilling new Map. It is here that Vecna has made his domain while he researches the mysteries of the Realm. Be brave, traveler, beneath the ruins of a ruined tower lies an underground lair of terrible experiments and horrifying secrets.
New D&D-inspired in-game features
When facing off against Vecna, 7 Chests are scattered across the Map. Seek out their loot and you'll gain untold powers.
To open a Chest, the adventurer must roll a d20. Should you roll a 2 or a 3, you’ll find a regular Dead by Daylight item. Rolling a 4 to 19, however, unlocks a Magical Item—either Gauntlets or Boots, that are equipped automatically. Each Magical Item gives the wearer an ability designed to counter one of Vecna’s spells.
Rolling a 20, a critical success, grants a powerful Magical Item that can be used like a Perk.
- The Eye of Vecna allows the user to vanish for a brief period after exiting a Locker.
- The Hand of Vecna allows the user to teleport from one Locker to another.
They may be powerful, but power comes at a cost. Each time they are called upon, the user loses a Health State, so choose your moment wisely.
As for the unlucky adventurers who roll a 1, a critical fail, they have a nasty surprise waiting for them...
