Dead by Daylight announced today that the game will collab with horror icons The Boulet Brothers to introduce a new charm, outfit, and more. Dead by Daylight will also make its TV debut, as it'll be featured in a future episode of The Boulet Brothers' Dragula coming this fall on Shudder.
The Boulet Brothers - made up of the drag duo of Dracmorda and Swanthula Boulet - have become horror culture icons as hosts of their Emmy-nominated reality competition show, The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula. They've been profiled by Good Morning America, People Magazine, and many more.
“What a thrill to be working with such horror icons as The Boulet Brothers," Mathieu Côté, Head of Partnerships for Behaviour Interactive, said. “Dracmorda and Swanthula are pioneers of drag entertainment and to be featured on The Boulet Brother’s Dragula has been a huge honor. Both our communities are passionate about horror and representation and we thank them for their continued support.”
The duo promises that the collab will be "game-changing," and note that it's something they've "never done before." It's anyone's guess as to what surprises are in store, but we speculate that the competition show could feature a Dead by Daylight-themed challenge, tasking competitors with replicating the likeness of iconic DBD characters.
“We are thrilled and honored to be joining the Dead By Daylight universe! We feel the DBD brand is a pioneer in the world of horror gaming, and they have always welcomed and encouraged people from all walks of life to be a part of their world,” said the Boulet Brothers. “We can’t wait for players to get the chance to experience the in-game items and we can’t wait for fans to see how DBD has been incorporated into The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula show."
While Dead by Daylight's appearance in Dragula will be the game's first time on TV, DBD is also coming to the big screen. Developers have announced that a Dead by Daylight Movie is in the works in collaboration with Blumhouse, though few details have followed since their confirmation of the project.
For now, there's no confirmed release date for the Boulet Brothers x Dead by Daylight collab - but developers say it's coming soon, so keep an eye out for more updates!
