Alien: Rolumus' Rain Enters Dead by Daylight's Fog

Alien: Romulus' protagonist, Rain, is joining Dead by Daylight the same day the film hits the big screen, 16 August. She's available now in the in-game store, taking the form of a legendary skin for her fellow Alien franchise survivor, Ellen Ripley. Rain is the first legendary skin in the game from the Alien franchise.

Rain is fully voice acted by her actress in the movie, Cailee Spaeny, and also features her likeness. Rain features lines in the lobby and throughout the game when interacting with both survivors and killers, following the team's recent trend of adding voice lines for new survivors, even those that only take on the form of a legendary skin.

The character's addition to the game was leaked a few months ago after dataminers found a character named "Rain" in the game's code. Later, hackers revealed tons of information from private Disney Slack channels, including early concepts depicting how Spaeny's likeness as Rain was recreated for DBD. Rain differs from DBD's Ellen Ripley in that in-game Ripley isn't actually based on her actress' Sigourney Weaver or voiced by her, though she bears lots of similarities.

Rain appears as part of the game's Alien: Romulus Collection, and isn't joined by any more characters this time around - but the "collection" tacked on at the end suggests that more Alien: Romulus skins are likely to come in the future. This is great news for many players who love the Alien franchise and would love to see more content.

While nothing is confirmed, it's possible that we could see a "Scorched" skin for the Xenomorph killer, featuring the creature in Romulus. Many fans have expressed their support for the Xenomorph's new form to join Rain in the Fog:

Rain's addition to Dead by Daylight isn't the Alien franchise's only recent foray into games. Alien: Rogue Incursion is coming to VR platforms this summer, allowing fans to experience fighting back against the Xenomorph in a totally new way. Just last month, Alien: The Roleplaying Game also became accessible to many more players through its release on Discord.

There's definitely a lot going on with Alien recently, to many fans' excitement.
