Dead by Daylight's 2v8 mode returns tomorrow, with new killers, updated realms and new maps, class updates, and more. The original iteration of the game mode was a huge hit - so much that its duration was extended - and both Killers and Survivors will finally get to experience it again this month.
“The team was incredibly excited to see the community’s reaction to the original release of 2v8,” said Justin Brown, Dead by Daylight product director. “Part of the reason we’re putting out this second iteration on this timeline is that we just really want to get this back in players’ hands. We don’t want people to have wait 6 months to play again.”
Brown said that the team is planning to keep this same approach going forward, suggesting that the 2v8 mode will likely return once again - and quite soon.
The new version of the mode includes quite a few changes based on fan feedback from the first round. The new Killers include Hilbilly, Spirit, and Deathslinger - and killers will now have their own Classes, much like Survivors. Survivors are also getting a few changes on their side of things, with Survivors gaining new Active Abilities to enhance their existing Classes.
This iteration of 2v8 will be available from 12 November until 26 November 2024. Dead by Daylight's 2v8 mode might not be permanent for now, but it definitely seems like Behaviour intends to bring it back again and again. It's likely that any future iterations will also include new Killers, maps, and more based on fan feedback, much like this second version of the mode.
