When players get rolling in Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Storybook Vale, there's no doubt many are looking to unlock the new characters as quickly as possible. While Merida is found as you arrive in The Bind, the other two additions for part one will take some extra work.
If you're a fan of Tangled or just wanna make sure Rapunzel gets her true love back, that search begins in The Wild Woods area of the Storybook Vale expansion. With a little fairy tale detective work, you'll soon unlock Flynn Rider in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How to Get Flynn Rider in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Once players settle into The Bind and unlock Goofy's Stall as well as Scrooge McDuck's Store, it'll soon be time to start exploring other areas of The Storybook Vale. To start unlocking Flynn Rider, it'll take at least 2,000 story magic to clear the path. If you don't quite have enough, do some exploring in The Bind gathering resources and complete some Storybook Duties.
Flynn Rider is in the region west of The Bind, and clearing the large inkies will first give you access to The Wild Woods. For players who also want a new villainous villager, use our guide to unlock Hades in Disney Dreamlight Valley once a path is cleared to The Elysian Fields. Once you stumble upon some wolf tracks, go have a quick conversation with The Lorekeeper then meet Merida back at those tracks.
Follow her down to a gateway where a quick swipe of the Royal Net could give you access, but the wheel is missing. To repair it, follow the wolf tracks to the left of the gateway where the wheel is hidden behind a purple bush. Return to the gateway, install the wheel, and use your Royal Net to open the path and begin the Fairy Tale Trial.
A Sheep in Wolf's Clothing Guide (The Storybook Vale)
Clear the first few inkies once you've entered the Fairy Tale Trial and use the Royal Net to swipe open the first door. The larger area you enter will be your path to Flynn Rider. Clear away some inkies in your path before going to the large door at the end of the hall to speak to The Wolf of the Wilds.
After a quick conversation that doesn't exactly convince you of their identity, three different paths will come next. In this main room, to the left of the large door, you can clear some petrified rocks and use the Royal Net (hold and release) to swipe that wheel. Check the other side of the room and ascend a small flight of stars to reach another wheel needing to be swiped.
A bit further back to the right of the large door, you'll find a symbol on the ground. The note beside it gives you a clue, as you'll need to dig up this symbol with the Royal Shovel until it matches the symbol on the door ahead of it and begin a mini quest within this large quest.
What a fierce howl he has. (Furniture Puzzle Solution)
Pass through the door after that symbol to begin Not By The Hair On My Chinny Chin Chin, and you'll need to enter Furniture Mode to finish it. The note once again gives you a clue, but all that's needed is to sort the three items into the proper locations. Put the hay bale on the left, the wood logs in the middle, and the bricks on the right. On the other side of this area, you'll find a Howling Gramophone to pick up that's one part of your quest to prove The Wolf of the Wilds isn't who he says he is.
What big feet he has. (Blocks Puzzle Solution)
Head back out into the main hall and cross directly to the other side to enter another open door and collect the next necessary item. Clear out the petrified wood rocks and the inkies so you can move freely around this room, then you can check the note for a clue if needed. Three symbols around the room will help you know which number requires which block, or you can just use the above image and get them all flipped to the right symbol. Some wolf shoes will drop on the ground, and you can pick them up and move on to the third part of this Fairy Tale Trial.
What a wolfish smell he has. (Cooking Puzzle Recipe Solution)
Back out in the main room, your final door is next to the small stairs. Clear out the inkies, and then you can read the note next to the cooking station to get an idea of what kind of recipe is required. Fortunately, all the ingredients you need are free to be collected on the tables to the left of the cooking station. You need Wolf Fur, Oil, and Woodland Pine Fragrance for this recipe. Toss each item into the pot and cook to receive Eau de Wolf.
With this final item gathered, go back to the large door in the main hall. After a quick conversation, the evidence will be enough to convince The Wolf of the Wilds. The door blocking your path will be cleared, and you'll finally meet Flynn Rider. He'll ask you to use your magic to clear some inkies on a planet just ahead, and you'll arrive back in The Wild Woods.
Like usual, Flynn will want a home to get settled into The Storybook Vale. Place his anywhere you'd like, and use the construction sign to speak to Scrooge. For a meager 10,000 coins, the house will be built and you'll have finally unlocked Flynn Rider in Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Storybook Vale.
