How to Feed Owls in Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Storybook Vale

Now that The Storybook Vale expansion has arrived, players are beginning to explore several new regions with their own unique resources and critters. The first you find won't be too difficult to approach, but it will take some legwork to get a hold of their favorite food. Once you're ready to do a little farming in The Bind, it won't take long to feed the owls their favorite food in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to Feed Owls their Favorite Food in Disney Dreamlight Valley

When players first arrive in The Storybook Vale, Merida will put them on the path to unlocking a few crucial things like the Royal Net and clearing up space in The Bind for additional villagers to arrive. Once you clean up a bit, an early quest will help you unlock Goofy's Stall in The Bind. There are additional Goofy's Stall locations which can be unlocked later, but only the one in The Bind is needed for this.

Go browse Goofy's selection, and get some Barley Seeds. Planting and harvesting these once grown will give you Barley, and that's the favorite food of owls in Disney Dreamlight Valley. With your cultivated Barley, head to The Library of Lore and keep an eye out for an owl flying around that area.

Once spotted, owls will simply need you to approach directly and interact with them. Once fed the Barley you'll get the classic reaction and heart symbol, and doing this a few more times will unlock that particular variant as a companion.

In total, there are four different owls in The Storybook Vale. Two are found in The Library of Lore, and two will instead appear in The Bind. The Brown Owl appears in The Library of Lore from Monday to Friday each week. If it's Saturday or Sunday, you'll instead find the Dark Owl at the same location.

Back out in The Bind, searching between 3pm and 8pm every day will give you a chance of finding a Light Owl. Finally, the Purple Owl is found in The Bind every day from 12am to 9am. If you harvest a good amount of Barley your first time, it should be plenty to feed the owls more than once and unlock all of them as companions in Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Storybook Vale.
