Explore Forest Of Valor With Merlin In Disney Dreamlight Valley

Merlin is one of the many Disney Characters you will meet that will give you quite a few quests to complete. The quest we’ll be focusing on is the Crystal Mystery, during which you will need to explore the Forest of Valor to find a mysterious crystal called the Night Shard.

Here’s how to find Night Shards in Disney Dreamlight Valley. First, make your way to the Forest of Valor. You will then need to make your way south to the Pillar of Courage; the Night Shard will be located a few feet away on the right side of the Pillar near a tree. 

Once you’ve interacted with the item, you can hand it over to Merlin. You will then receive a quest to collect all 5 Night Shards and try to purify them with a Dream Shard at the Crafting Station.

Hardwood is another item that can be obtained in the Forest of Valor and will only spawn in forested areas. This item and many others can be used to create your Crafting Station. You can learn more about how to get Hardwood in our previous guide.

How To Make A Purified Night Shard

To make a Purified Night Shard, you will need the 5 Night Shards you’ve collected and 1 Dream Shard. You can obtain Dream Shards by clearing Night Thrones in Disney Dreamlight Valley, although it is rare.

Once you’ve crafted a Purified Night Shard, this is “a rare gift for a friend” and can be given to any villager of your choosing.
