With the Early Access period of Disney Dreamlight Valley for those who purchased one of the Founder's Packs now underway, players are jumping into the magical world to meet iconic characters and complete tasks. However, some players are running into name filtering issues that prevent them from choosing their preferred character name.

This article explains the name filtering issue in Disney Dreamlight Valley and if there is a name change feature per the developer's update.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Name Change Feature?

On 6th September 2022, shortly following the launch of Disney Dreamlight Valley at 13:00 UTC, the developers saw players run into a name filtering issue, preventing some players from choosing their preferred character/avatar name.

However, Developer Gameloft seems quick in fixing Disney Dreamlight Valley issues. An updated filtering system was pushed out one hour after the issue was made public on social media.

Gamers who already chose their name, and are not happy with it due to the name filtering issue, are wondering if there is a name change feature in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Well, there isn't one right now. However, the developers did share some good news on Twitter, stating: "For those of you who have already chosen a name and would like to change it, stay tuned. We will allow players to change their name with an upcoming update."

At the time of writing, it is unclear when the name change feature will make its way into Disney Dreamlight Valley.

It is important to note that the developers have already fixed a few issues less than a day after Disney Dreamlight Valley's launch, which is a good sign for an Early Access title.

For example, there was an issue on the Nintendo Switch console where Founder's Pack rewards did not appear in players' mailboxes.

There's also a Cloud Save issue, alongside a wardrobe issue when porting in an avatar via the free avatar creator.
