The Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 is the second-ever Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) Major Championship, with a huge prize pool of $1.25 million. The event runs from 30 November to 15 December 2024, and to get there, four Regional Major Rankings (RMR) events will take place, starting with the Asia-Pacific (APAC) RMR.

Teams Competing in Shanghai Major APAC RMR

It's been a wild ride to get to the Shanghai Major APAC RMR for the teams involved, with a massive turnout during the qualifiers. For example, 8643 teams registered for the China Open Qualifier, and only one team, Rare Atom, eventually made it through the Chinese Qualifier to earn a single spot. That's quite insane.

• Alter Ego (Southeast Asia QUalifier)
• DRILLAS (Middle Eastern Qualifier)

Direct invites are due to a team's standing on Valve's Regional Standings leaderboard.

Shanghai Major 2024 Dates & Format

The Shanghai Major APAC RMR event is an offline affair with the eight teams competing in China from 11 to 13 November 2024. They are all competing for just three spots in the Opening Stage of the main event.

The format is simple yet effective, with a double-elimination bracket. All opening matches are best-of-one, and all other matches are best-of-three. The top three teams from the bracket advance to the Opening Stage of the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024.
