Romanian tournament organizer PGL has returned to Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports in a big way, making waves as they've announced ten huge CS2 Ranked Tournaments with full schedules for the next two years.

These big new PGL tournaments will take place across "iconic landmarks" with events in Buenos Aires, Bucharest, Belgrade, Astana, São Paulo, and Barcelona. In fact, the first event of 2025 will be inside Teatro Gran Rex in Argentina's capital!

In a press release, PGL announced this massive initiative, stating:

In a significant development, PGL is pleased to announce that the CS2 competitive landscape has evolved, embracing a more open and inclusive approach. PGL is committed to hosting all its tournaments fully transparently and complying with Valve’s new licensing rules. This change marks a pivotal moment in esports, democratizing event organization and fostering a more vibrant and diverse competitive scene.

As a CS2 esports fan, I couldn't be more excited. After all, PGL is a solid tournament organizer who has brought us the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, Major Antwerp 2022, and Major Stockholm 2021.

  • For all other events, the Global VRS Rank (1-16) will be applied.

  • All PGL events in 2025-2026 are OFFLINE.
  • Roster Eligibility: A roster is eligible to participate in a Tournament via a Direct VRS Invite only if at least three of the athletes on the roster were also part of the roster on the Invite Date.
  • Declining or Inability to Participate: If a roster is unable to participate or chooses to decline the Direct VRS Invite, the invite will be extended to the next roster in the VRS, following the order of Qualifying Ranks, until all tournament slots are filled.
  • Visa Requirements: If a team does not receive the necessary visa(s) by the designated deadline, the Direct Invite will be offered to the next team in VRS.
  • Valve Ban and Roster Integrity: If a player or players are banned by Valve and the team no longer meets the eligibility criteria in Roster Eligibility, the team may lose the Direct VRS Invite.
