As Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports fans, it was fantastic to watch Group D of the BLAST Fall Groups 2024 with the renewed Team Liquid stunning favorites NAVI twice in a row. But of course, Natus Vincere (NAVI) is Latin for "born to win," so IGL Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen and coach Andrij "B1ad3" Ghorodensjkyj ensured the squad would not falter in the Play-In stage.

Complexity has seen a lot of success on Anubis recently, making it an easy pick as the first map of the series for South African IGL Johnny "JT" Theodosiou. It was clear Complexity had figured out Anubis well, as the first half was too close to call at 6-6.

In the second half, however, NAVI got off to a great start thanks to an incredible four USP-S kills from Ukranian AWPer, Ihor "w0nderful" Zhdanov, who popped four heads with ease.

It was a back-and-forth affair, and in the 23rd round, when it was all tied up at 11-11 each, Valerij "b1t" Vakhovsjkyj stepped up to the plate for NAVI in a huge way, securing a 12-11 lead with a 2v1 clutch with an MP9 in a post-plant situation.

Complexity failed to force overtime following b1t's clutch, and NAVI won Anubis 13-11. When it came to NAVI's map pick of Nuke, things were a bit more one-sided.

Starting on the T side, NAVI pulled ahead in the first half with a whopping nine rounds, while Complexity could only muster three. Despite a solid effort from Complexity in the second half, NAVI was just too far ahead, and b1t definitely sealed the deal to put NAVI on match point with three quick headshot kills with the AK-47.

NAVI closed out Nuke with a 13-6 score and thereby secured the 2-0 clean sweep to claim a spot at the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024. Complexity will compete in the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024 event, which runs from 21 to 25 August 2024.
