In the midst of the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024, we reported on a rumor that G2 Esports was eyeing up Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa. Since then, G2 has benched Nemanja "nexa" Isaković, and now, the organization has officially added malbsMd to their Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) roster!
The Guatemalan rifler joins G2 Esports from M80 after continuing to improve his aggressive playstyle even further, and transitioning well to CS2.

Taking to X, Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa thanked his previous team in a tweet and talked about the opportunity to join G2 Esports, stating:
Super excited for the opportunity of my life, can't still believe this happened but I'm more ready than ever to grind and become a better player and person than I was before, I also want to thank everyone from M80gg for their support since the 1st day of this!
At the time of writing, it is unclear if malbsMd will take over nexa's position on the server. For the most part, malbsMd is a much more aggressive player, while nexa is what you would call a passive anchor. That is leading some to believe that the G2 Esports roster changes might not be over just yet.
Current G2 CS2 Roster
- Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov
- Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač
- Nikola "NiKo" Kovač
- Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen
- Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa
- Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas (coach)
Several loose G2 Esports roster rumors are floating around, specifically around when huNter- and NiKo's contracts expire. However, we suggest taking them with a large helping of salt and waiting for official information.
Are the off-season roster changes for G2 Esports over? Maybe not, so we'll let you know if/when anything happens.
