Counter-Strike 2 is all set to release this summer as a free update to the existing version. In fact, the beta testing for CSGO 2 has also kicked off, and invitations have been sent to a limited number of players. However, many players are wondering, following the announcement of the sequel, whether their CS:GO skins transfer to Counter-Strike 2 or not.
Considering how expensive the CS:GO skins are, no player will want to lose their valuable inventory with the introduction of a sequel. Thankfully, now we have an official confirmation on this query from Valve. So without any further delay, here's everything you need to know about whether your inventory will transfer over to Counter-Strike 2 or not.
Will CSGO Skins Transfer Over to Counter-Strike 2?
CS:GO players will be glad to know that all of their skins will transfer to Counter-Strike 2 once it officially launches. In an official statement, Valve stated, "All of your weapon finishes, stickers, and other CS:GO inventory items will be available to use in Counter-Strike 2."
On top of that, Valve has confirmed that not only will players keep every item they’ve collected over the years, but they’ll all benefit from source two lighting and materials. In simple words, old skins receive a massive overhaul in terms of visuals through the Source 2 engine.
However, it's worth noting that players cannot modify inventory items during the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test. This includes applying stickers, scraping stickers, using Trade Up Contracts, and other ways players can modify their in-game items. To modify items, one needs to do so within CS:GO.
If you have chosen to participate in the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test, you will receive a notification on the main menu of CS:GO.
If you receive an invitation, select "ENROLL" and begin your download. When the download is complete, launch CS:GO and select the "Limited Test" option to play the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test.
So there you have it. That's everything you need to know about whether your inventory will transfer over to Counter-Strike 2 or not.
