At the OVO Arena Wembley in London, in front of a crowd from 14 to 16 June, six of the best Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports teams will compete in the Playoffs of the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024. The second quarterfinal match between Astralis and Virtus.pro promises to be a best-of-three slugfest, where only one team will move on, and the other will be eliminated.
In the Group Stage, an on-form NAVI shut down Astralis with a 2-0, but Astralis recovered by beating SAW 2-0, thanks to their IGL, Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz's incredible star performance. It was a wild ride for Virtus.pro, reverse-sweeping Vitality in the opening Group B match and then getting "donked" on by Team Spirit.

BLAST Spring Final: Vitality vs. FaZe Quarterfinal Match Report
You'll find more details about what happened on each map of the Astralis vs. Virtus.pro quarterfinal match below.
Astralis vs. VP Map 1 Inferno
On Astralis' map pick of Inferno, the Danes started strong on the T side, with Victor "Staehr" Staehr picking up four kills. In the 2nd round, VP chose to force buy and lost horribly, as Astralis got a bomb plant on the B site.
With VP on a full save, Astralis pulled ahead with a 3-0 lead. Then, in VP's first gun round on Inferno, Astralis kept their cool and dismantled the VP defense on the B site. With Astralis in a 4-0 lead, VP called their first tactical timeout of the match.
In the 5th round of Inferno, Astralis slowed down a bit before pushing the B site with 30 seconds on the clock. While Astralis did get a bomb plant, VP got on the board by eliminating the Danes and defusing the bomb.
VP on the CT side secured another three rounds to tie things up 4-4 on Inferno. In classic VP fashion, they pulled ahead with six rounds in a row, with an incredibly close 10th round, which could have gone either way. At the end of the first half of Inferno, VP had an 8-4 lead as teams switched sides.
On the T side, VP took the pistol round and converted another, leading 10-4 on Astralis's map pick.
In their first gun round in the second half of Inferno, Astralis found two early picks for a 4v3 situation. It was an incredibly close round, however, as Astralis defused VP's bomb plant with milliseconds left.
Unfortunately for Astralis, they couldn't convert the 16th round, as VP quickly recovered. VP put themselves on match point with a 12-6 scoreline. Astralis finally pushed back in the 19th round and converted for another, making the score 12-7 in favor of VP.
Astralis pulled another round back before VP shut down comeback hopes, winning Inferno 13-8.
Astralis vs. VP Map 2 Dust2
On VP's map pick of Dust2, Astralis found some early success, winning the pistol round and then defending against VP's force buy and converting the 3rd round for a fast 3-0 lead. In VP's first full gun round, things didn't go as planned, as Astralis pushed their advantage, taking a 4-0 lead.
VP finally got on the board in the 5th round, with electroNic showing his worth on the A site, shutting down both dev1ce and stavn on their retake attempt. VP then managed to take another round, destroying Astralis' economy and putting the Danes on an eco, then converting without issue.
Early on in Dust2, Astralis had a 4-3 lead, but VP had the momentum. VP pushed their advantage, tying Dust2 in the 8th round and taking the lead for the first time in the 9th round to make it 5-4 in their favor.
From 4-0 down to an 8-4 finish in their favor, VP showed their big match temperament to the detriment of Astralis as the first half of Dust2 came to a close.
As teams switched sides, Astralis didn't have much room for error on the T side. Astralis attacked the A site with vigor, claimed the pistol round, and converted another.
In the 16th round, VP had their first full buy of the CT side on Dust2, but Astralis held strong and planted on the B site, tying up Dust2 with an 8-8 scoreline
Astralis then took the lead with Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard on the A site attack, scoring three kills. VP responded by calling a tactical timeout, with Astralis now 9-8 ahead.
Astralis pushed their advantage to go 10-8 before VP stole it back on the B site, clearing out the Danes and winning the 19th round in style. This prompted Astralis to instantly call for their final tactical timeout.
VP pulled ahead on the CT side, stopping Astralis' advances in their tracks to claim an 11-10 lead. With a double AWP in the 22nd round, VP put themselves on match point. Then, VP closed out Dust2 as it all crumbled to dust for Astralis (sorry!), winning the map 13-10 and the series 2-0.
Astralis vs. VP Map 3 Mirage
Mirage not needed. VP wins 2-0.
