Warzone Pacific Season 1 will bring some of the biggest changes ever to Call of Duty's battle royale, including a brand new map, Caldera, over 40 new weapons, Gulag changes, and even crazy fighter jet skirmishes.
The changes that are coming to Warzone are of such scale that they even warranted the official change of the battle royale's name, which is now called Warzone Pacific, to highlight the new era of Warzone, set in the Pacific theatre of WW2.
And while we are saying goodbye to Verdansk, the sheer magnitude of new content is making the whole community extremely excited as tens of millions of players can't wait to jump right into Caldera and start exploring the exotic island.
Unfortunately, if you are a veteran Warzone player, you know that Warzone is having one "big" issue, and by big we mean its size. Ever since its release, Warzone has been infamous for its enormous size. Even now, when file size problems are alleviated somewhat, the game still requires almost 90 GB of free space.
Now imagine a new update that will basically install a new game. Yeah, it will probably be humongous. But worry not, as you will most likely be able to pre-load the update and have the game ready for when Season 1 officially starts.
When is Warzone Pacific Season 1 update preload time?
Activision has revealed details on when will we be able to preload Warzone Pacific Season 1 content. Vanguard’s update is scheduled for 6th December at 9 PM PT. Warzone will schedule its update for when it shuts down its servers from 7th December at 9 PM PT to 8th December at 9 AM PT to prepare for Warzone Pacific.
Warzone Pacific and Vanguard Season 1 is starting on Wednesday, 8th December, for everyone who owns Call of Duty: Vanguard, while Warzone Season 1 for other players will become available a day later, on Thursday, 9th December.
When it becomes available, your Battle.net client (or Xbox/PS) will automatically download the update upon which the game will be unavailable for a few hours of maintenance. Once the servers are live again, Season 1 will kick off for Vanguard owners and they will have exclusive 24-hours access to the new Caldera map, while everyone else will only be able to play the Rebirth Island map.
And on the following day, all Warzone Pacific players who don't own Vanguard will get access to Caldera and other new content automatically without needing to update the game, as they already did that the previous day.
So there you have it, now you know when you can preload Warzone Pacific Season 1 update.
