With the Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer and alpha completed, and the PlayStation beta kicking off, as well as the crossplay beta which runs from 16th to 20th September, a countless number of players will be jumping into the game. We've already shared details on all the maps, perks, killstreaks and equipment but let's face it, arguably the most important and exciting aspect of COD Vanguard is all the new weapons players will be able to enjoy.

It's quite challenging to pick the best weapons in COD Vanguard on your own, especially when you are just getting started with the beta. Don't worry, you've stumbled upon the right article, as we share our picks for the most overpowered and broken guns in the COD Vanguard beta.

Best weapons for COD Vanguard beta in each class

Keep in mind that picking the best weapons for the COD Vanguard beta is not an exact science, and drastic balance changes are expected before the game's full release.

With that in mind, we've picked the most overpowered and possibly even broken guns in each class for the COD Vanguard beta, so let's get started.

Best SMG in COD Vanguard: MP-40

If you want to get the job done at close range, and maybe even medium-ranged engagements, then the MP-40 is the SMG for you.

Its recoil is easy to handle while boasting a fast rate of fire and overall it is just the best gun to get started with.

In our opinion, the MP-40 isn't just the best gun in its class for the COD Vanguard beta. Instead, it might just be the best meta weapon overall.

Don't just take our word for it, however, as you can watch YouTuber RhodekILL decimate enemies in the Champions Hill game mode using the MP-40 below.

Looks a bit overpowered, doesn't it?

Best assault rifle in COD Vanguard: STG44

Familiarity is your best bet when picking a weapon at the start of the COD Vanguard beta, and the STG44 should be your go-to assault rifle for this purpose.

The STG44 is viable in any situation, having a respective range, a fast TTK, and very low recoil, making it the best assault rifle to use in the COD Vanguard beta.

Best LMG in COD Vanguard: MG42

Want to continuously spray bullets at your enemies? Then the MG42 LMG is the best weapon for you in COD Vanguard's beta.

The MG42 has a massive magazine size, nice iron sights, deals a good amount of damage and importantly has low recoil. The downside is movement will be slow as you cosplay as a slow-moving turret across the COD Vanguard maps.

Best shotgun in COD Vanguard: Revolving Shotgun

If you want to blow your enemies away, then the Revolving Shotgun is for you. This unique weapon can kill an enemy in two hits, and it unloads its revolver-like magazine exceptionally quickly.

The only downside to the Revolving Shotgun is that it takes quite a while to reload but it is still better than the other option (Auto Loading Shotgun) available in the COD Vanguard beta.

Best sniper in COD Vanguard: Kar98k

As always, we lump the Marksman Rifles together with the standard sniper rifles. While it is a close call between the three sniper options available in COD Vanguard, we think the Kar98k is the most powerful.

It is a balanced, bolt-action sniper rifle capable of killing your opponents in one or two shots (aim for the head!) and just like the other long-range options, it has low mobility as a downside.

COD Vanguard releases on November 5th and will be available on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox Series X and Series S, and on the PlayStation 5.
