Once you've completed your quest in the Goblin Camp in Act 1 of Baldur's Gate 3, you'll be given the choice to take two separate routes to the Shadow-Cursed Lands. Realistically, you should take both of them if you value the stories that your companions are telling you, but once you hit the Mountain Pass you encounter an extremely interesting moral conundrum.
Should you help Lady Esther?
Lady Esther, a woman you encounter on your journey to the Githyanki Creche, asks you to retrieve a Githyanki egg from the Creche for 'research' purposes. If you do this, Lae'Zel will disapprove, and you'll have to sneak into the Creche and steal the egg, which can lead to a massive battle between you and the warriors inside.
There's also a dialogue check option with Varsh Ko'kuu, who you may be able to persuade to just give you the egg, avoiding any combat whatsoever.
This isn't the only option, though. If you have an Owlbear Egg in your inventory, you can try and deceive Lady Esther into believing that it's actually a Githyanki egg. Pass these checks and Lady Esther will take it back to the Society of Brilliance. Both of these choices have consequences later down the line, though, so think about what you want to do before you do it.
