If you love the Bioshock franchise, Atomic Heart from Mundfish and publisher Focus Entertainment should already be on your radar. Releasing on 21 February 2023 for PS4/PS5, Xbox One/Series X&S, alongside PC, this alt-history first-person shooter (FPS) title looks incredible, which leads many gamers to ask: "Is Atomic Heart on Xbox Game Pass?"
This article explains if and when Atomic Heart will release on Xbox Game Pass for subscribers to play for free and what bonuses, if any, subscribers will get on PC and Xbox consoles.
Atomic Heart Day 1 on Xbox Game Pass
If this section's heading and image above haven't made it clear, then let us make it crystal clear. Yes, Atomic Heart is a Day 1 release on Xbox Game Pass for console, PC, and Cloud gaming options.
This means that if you have an active Game Pass subscription (or Game Pass Ultimate for PC), then you can enjoy Atomic Heart for free on release, which is set for 21 February 2023.
In the Xbox Game Pass Atomic Heart availability announcement from Microsoft, the developer explains:
In a mad and sublime utopian world, take part in explosive encounters. Adapt your fighting style to each opponent, use your environment and upgrade your equipment to fulfill your mission. If you want to reach the truth, you’ll have to pay in blood.
There's already quite a bit of hype surrounding Atomic Heart, and since you can play it for free, with no limitations, if you are an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, there's really no reason not to jump in.
Atomic Heart Xbox Game Pass: Which Edition & Bonuses
Atomic Heart comes in three (3) Editions, namely Standard, Gold, and Premium, with the Gold and Premium featuring an Atomic Pass, which includes upcoming DLC content.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers get access to the Standard Edition, which seems to include the pre-order bonus of two weapon skins, namely Swede and Electro skins. We will update this article once the pre-order bonus for Game Pass subscribers is confirmed.
While it isn't much in terms of bonuses for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, it is a little something extra for free. Remember, the game's Standard edition would have set you back $69.99 USD.
