While Ubisoft has been very secretive regarding its next entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, leaks have already started to reveal a lot of different things. According to a brand new leak, the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game will be set in Mexico and the Aztecs.
As most might be aware at this point, Ubisoft's next Assassin’s Creed title is named Infinity and is being claimed to be a live service game.
Now, if this new leak is true, then, we might see the franchise shifting its focus to the Mesoamerican culture that thrived in central Mexico. Here's all you need to know.
Assassin’s Creed Infinity's location & theme - Mexico and Aztecs
The Assassin’s Creed franchise has been a globe-trotting adventure and the developers always managed to pick great historical settings to set the game world and the lore on.

The recent game Valhalla transported players to a fictional setting during the Viking expansions into the British Isles. If new leaks are now to be believed, the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game might be set in Mexico and Aztecs.
This scoop comes via a Twitter user going by the name ACG, who previously had a solid record of leaks with Ubisoft regarding Far Cry Primal. In one of their tweets, the user simply wrote: "Next AC game will be Aztecs."
While the leaker didn't reveal how they got this information, if this does turn out to be the case, then we might get to see ourselves in the wildernesses of Mexico.

That said, nothing has yet been confirmed by Ubisoft, so take everything with loads of salt, since this can turn out to be false. However, it would really be great to see a brand new setting and as always some new faces.
The publisher has already confirmed that Assassin's Creed Infinity is in development and in a joint statement from the managing directors of Ubisoft Quebec and Montreal, Nathalie Bouchard and Christophe Derenne, the title in development was dubbed "an important upcoming, early-in-development project codenamed Assassin’s Creed Infinity."
However, Ubisoft is still to show off gameplay or other details surrounding the game. With all the leaks starting to pop up, it's possible that Ubisoft might have something solid in their hands and an announcement of some kind might be imminent.
But we still might have to wait a long time till we get to see anything concrete. And that's everything about the next Assassin’s Creed game location being leaked.
