These past few seasons of Apex Legends have blessed fans with all sorts of content. In Season 16, we saw Respawn Entertainment forgo the traditional new legend rollout in favor of a complete rework to the game's classes. The adjustments were a success, and Apex saw some of its best numbers in terms of player count.
Continuing the hype came Season 17, which launched added a new legend into the mix — Ballistic. In his younger days, Ballistic was a Thunderdome Games champion, known for his wild style and reckless abilities. Refusing to bow out of the fight, Ballistic entered into the Apex games, now in his sixties, and has since been showing the younger crowd how its done. Ballistic's addition to the Apex roster has been well-received, seeing him sitting comfortably when it comes to pick rates.

But now Season 18 is on the horizon, and it remains to be seen what this brand new season has in store. Thankfully, Respawn have already given fans a taste of what's to come in a brand new lore cinematic: Kill Code Part 2. In this trailer we see that something is not quite right with Revenant, who appears to be undergoing some sinister changes. Be sure to check out the full cinematic below.
While the cinematic certainly gets the fan-theories pumping, players are wondering what this all means for Season 18's gameplay. Fortunately it looks like players won't have long to wait. At the end of the cinematic, Respawn reveals that the gameplay trailer for Season 18: Resurrection will be airing on August 3, 2023.

While Respawn have yet to confirm what sort of gameplay changes players can expect, if the cinematic is anything to go by, we could be seeing some brand new features for Revenant. All we know is that Apex Legends is set for a darker, more sinister experience this upcoming season.
