It's time for a brand new Collection Event in Apex Legends, but this time the event is switching things up in a drastic way. With the Double Take Collection Event beginning on June 25, for the first time players are able to jump into Apex Legends as a Quad.
So how does this work in the Apex ecosystem? Well, some Legend abilities have been updated to support a fourth for the duration of this season, such as Valkyrie’s Ult, Loba's Ult, Vantage's Passive, and Mirage's Decoy. Tridents, however, are still a three-man vibe but walking is still an option.
Now that the party size has increased, Quad playlists will feature 15 teams of Quads. There will be an increased chance of finding Blue and Purple weapons, increased ammo finds, and increased drops of ammo, health, shields, scopes, and deployables. Quads will also be replacing the Duos Playlist for this chunk of the season. Keep in mind that Quads will be the only playlist to support a fourth player.
Since this is a brand new Collection Event that also means there are new Collection Event items to get hold of. All 24 Double Take limited-time cosmetics can be unlocked via event packs or individually, and there are Legendary skins for: Octane, Crypto, Fuse, Conduit, Revenant, and Alter. Collect all 24 event cosmetics before the end of the event and you'll unlock Lifeline’s Prestige Skin, “Apex Corruptor.”
Sadly, Quads will only be available in Apex Legends until the end of this season. However, perhaps if they prove popular enough Respawn will consider making them a permanent addition. For now though, Quad-up!
