For the first time ever, the famous esports event organizer BLAST will dive into the competitive scene of Respawn and EA's popular battle royale, Apex Legends, with the announcement of its new BLAST Titans tournament.
This European competition will be loaded with a roster full of stars and legends, who will play with everything they can for victory and a part of the prize pool prepared by the veteran organizers of CS:GO tournaments. Let's take a look at everything BLAST has announced, along with some of the teams that will be part of this first edition.
BLAST Titans: Format overview and invited teams
At BLAST Titans, players will be able to see some of the best teams in Europe, including the top 10 of the EMEA Division from the Apex Legends Global Series, who have received direct invites to participate in the tournament, with teams like Alliance, Gambit, SCARZ, and NAVI fighting for the grand prize.
Along with these renowned teams, the organizers also have invited twenty squads with high-level players, both from major competitions and wildcards, in addition to announcing an open qualifier, in which any player will have the opportunity to fight for their qualification to participate in this big event, making a total of 40 teams.
All those interested in participating must register through the official platform of the event, starting 25th June.
BLAST Titans: Schedule and how to watch
BLAST Titans will be split between two weekends, with the first of these pitting all 40 teams through three rounds in a double-elimination format, with the top 20 winning a prize pool of € 20,000, and advance to the final rounds.
The schedule for this first weekend is as follows:
- Friday, 23rd July: Group stages
- Saturday, 24th July: Upper and lower bracket stages
- Sunday, 25th July: Finals
The final rounds will take place on 31st July and 1st August, where again there will be a total of € 20,000 for those teams that manage to be crowned as the best.
