The esports calendar is filling out following the announcement that the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Year 4 Split 2 Playoffs will be taking place in Mannheim, Germany, at the SAP Arena on August 29 to September 1, 2024.

The top 40 Apex Legends teams, across six regions, will be battling it out in the second Playoff event this year. Expect to see the likes of Fnatic, Legends Gaming, and more take the stage at the SAP Arena.

All teams will be competing for their share of the eye-watering $1 million prize pool and their spot in the ALGS Championship.

We'll be seeing plenty of gaming and esports events taking place in Germany this Summer. Aside from IEM Cologne running across Aug. 16 - Aug. 18 for all things Counter-Strike, Gamescom will be taking place from Aug. 21 - Aug. 25, and now the ALGS rounding off the month from Aug. 29 - Sept. 1.

“The Split 2 Playoffs marks Apex Legends esports’ highly anticipated return to Europe and our first-ever ALGS event in Germany,” said John Nelson, Sr. Director Esports at EA Entertainment. “With past stops in the UK, the US, and now Germany, we’re continuing to deliver more ALGS action to more fans around the world.”

Last year saw the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs take place in London's Copper Box Arena, where we sat down with the winning team, DarkZero, following their victory against TSM.
