Sound the alarms across the Sky Islands to alert all Sky Sailors to a new update from developer Astrolabe Interactive regarding their forthcoming co-op sandbox survival game Aloft. The game released its much-anticipated demo in June 2024 along with a multiplayer mode, the latter of which was extended due to its success during that month's Steam Next Fest presence.

The developer had initially planned for its official Early Access release to be scheduled this Fall; however, it appears that they may need more time to fight off the corrupted Sky Islands. They announced that they'd be pushing back its subsequent release, but never fear Sky Sailors, as we can anticipate future updates and announcements as they continue polishing the game.

The developer released an official statement via the game's Steam News page in which they've stressed that the move to push back Aloft's Steam Early Access release was made "following many discussions and much consideration," one that was not made lightly. Understandably, the news may be "disappointing" for many who've been enjoying their in-game experiences through its demo; however, there is a glimmer of hope as a January 2025 release ensures the best possible state of the game will be available.

Astrolabe Interactive is "very happy with the game’s progress at this stage," but the game requires additional work to give it that "extra polish, detail, and fine-tuning" before the anchors are raised. "While we are launching in Early Access, we're committed to delivering a level of quality that surpasses all our previous updates," the developer stated in the statement mentioned above.

"We want you to be blown away by your very first leap into the skies of Aloft – so this extra time will be of utmost importance for the betterment of the game and, ultimately, the player experience." As such, the developer applauds the players for submitting feedback that they've received following the demo release, which the development team has much appreciated; they've expressed their heartfelt thanks for their "patience and continued support throughout this journey" as we await news on Aloft's Steam Early Access release.
