As fans clamor for news about WWE 2K24, a new report could indicate some significant plans featuring the late Bray Wyatt. After he passed away unexpectedly in August of last year, unsourced rumors of a Bray Wyatt spotlight in the upcoming release have circulated regularly. However, for the first time we have a concrete report as a WWE 2K24 reveal might be less than two weeks away.
WWE working on Bray Wyatt project ahead of WWE 2K24 reveal
With the WWE Royal Rumble coming up on January 27, anticipation is high for official WWE 2K24 news. Details are relatively vague so far, but a new report from PWInsider could be connected to development of the next installment's 2K Showcase.
This mode has been a staple of the franchise for years, and it puts the spotlight on a single superstar (or group of superstars) with flashbacks to key matches from the past. These often weave a mix of interviews about the superstar, actual match footage, and in-game content playing through key moments in each match.
According to PWInsider [H/T Essentially Sports], Bo Dallas (real-life brother of Bray Wyatt) was in Pittsburgh recently to be interviewed and new "film material" was created. This could be for a future WWE documentary, a special feature at WrestleMania 40 or the Hall of Fame, or it could be for use in a WWE 2K24 Showcase featuring Bray Wyatt.
If he's chosen as the 2K Showcase superstar, it's also likely that Bray Wyatt might be their pick for WWE 2K24 cover star. Even if he isn't the focus in this way, WWE has made long-term merchandising deals with Wyatt's family to ensure they have some steady income in the future. As such, we should at the very least see Bray Wyatt on the WWE 2K24 roster.
