It's been more than three years since we first received confirmation about a new Wonder Woman game in the works by Monolith Productions and WB Games. However, recent reports suggest that the project's development has hit some rough patches, though the specifics remain unclear.
For those curious about the latest revelations regarding Wonder Woman and what they imply for the game's future, you've come to the right place. Below, we'll delve into all the information available about the current status of the Wonder Woman game, including the rumored challenges it's facing.
Insider Reports Troubles with Wonder Woman Game After Nearly 3 Years of Development
In a recent episode of the Kinda Funny podcast, Greg Miller made a few statements about the state of Wonder Woman, highlighting the fact that based on information he's gleaned from an insider, the game is indeed in a troubled state. To quote Greg: "Here you go, you want it? You want the exclusive? I'll give you my Jeff Grubb information. In the past year – cause I'll leave it ambiguous – I have talked to an insider, who was like, 'This game's troubled.' That's it, that’s all I'll say. I don't hold out hope that it’s in a place to show something."
Rumour: Monolith's Wonder Woman is in a Troubled state #WB

@ 42Min Greg Miller says he's talking with source with knowledge of development in the past year and they told him the game is in a troubled state and don't expect it anytime soonhttps://t.co/B6ebn7q7hUpic.twitter.com/j6wj2jopV3
Now of course we can't fully back this information with concrete evidence as it comes from an alleged insider, but we can say that it tracks quite well with the fact that we've heard almost nothing about the game since its initial trailer released back in 2021. Even Blessing Adeoye Jr. points out that the June 8 Summer Game Fest would be the perfect time for WB head David Zaslav to show "signs of life," and that the game isn't dead.
Fans are also keen on knowing more about the game since Monolith, who is most well-known for their infamous nemesis system, is taking the lead on the game, and we want to know how the game is coming along with all that potential behind it. At this point, all of us want a good game from WB and by extension from the DC universe, and with its recent shaky/disappointing track record (Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League), Wonder Woman is set to break the cycle (we hope).
Ultimately, all we can do for now is wait on more news surrounding Wonder Woman's release and hope that the game being in a troubled state is only temporary until it all fits together. Of course, as more news is released, we will be covering it extensively, so be sure to check back here for more on the latest Wonder Woman news.
