When Will Wonder Woman Release? Speculation
At the time of writing, there is no official confirmed release date for Wonder Woman, but in this article, you’ll find all (if any) information that the developer shared, as well as some speculation from Ginx on when we could see it launch.
At the 2021 Game Awards, a brief teaser for the Wonder Woman game was unveiled, but no release date was provided. Warner Bros. has also not mentioned anything regarding a release window, such as 2023 or 2024, so for right now; we will just have to expect that Wonder Woman is still a long way off.
If we had to guess, we would say that Wonder Woman won't appear on screen until at least late 2023. It's likely to come out later, probably on the PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
DC's Wonder Woman Official Trailer
We only get a brief glimpse of Wonder Woman in the released cinematic trailer, and it's more close-up shots of her armor than anything resembling gameplay or a setup to the story.
Diana's mother Hippolyta is heard saying, "My daughter, a new threat has arrived on our shores, and I must call you home," in the trailer. This implies that Wonder Woman has left her secret home island of Themyscira and is now living in modern society alone, separated from her Amazonian family.
Diana's need to assist her mother and sisters back home suggests that she has performed heroic acts in the real world. And she will likely use these skills when returning home to stop the threat that has appeared in her home.
Wonder Woman Story & Gameplay
Monolith's upcoming Wonder Woman game, like Middle-earth: Shadow of War and Shadow of Mordor, will be a "single-player open-world action game" according to the game's description.
So far, the studio has only teased details of the story. Still, we do know that it will be an original story set in the DC Universe rather than one that actively draws from Wonder Woman stories from the comics or a piece of the larger Arkham-Verse in which many Warner Bros. games are set. This will set the game apart from its peers and give fans a new world to get invested in and explore.
Additionally, we know Wonder Woman will employ the Nemesis System seen in the Middle-Earth games. The Nemesis system mechanic allows players to have a unique impact on the game's narrative.
Because enemies evolve and develop in response to your actions, even the smallest grunt can work its way up enemy ranks and become your nemesis. Orcs would be promoted if they killed you in Middle-earth Shadow of War, and they'd challenge each other to fight to the death and climb higher ranks.
For now, that's all we know regarding Wonder Woman and the details surrounding its release. As more information is released, we will update our listing, so be sure to check back here frequently for more on Monolith's Wonder Woman.
