Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is an upcoming souls-like that features fast-paced melee combat. While ranged combat is still an integral part of the game, you will spend most of your time in Wo Long slashing, stabbing, and hammering foes. 

Like the Nioh games, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty features an intricate melee combat system with a wide array of weapon types to choose from. Each weapon type favors a different playstyle and has unique special abilities to go with it.  

As such, here's our guide explaining every weapon type in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

All Weapon Types in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

Swords

These are one-handed fast-paced weapons that deal slashing and thrusting damage. It's the most ideal weapon type in the game and is most suited to beginners. 

Dual Swords

These are the faster and more aggressive dual-hand variants of Swords. They deal relatively less damage but are great for staggering enemies with quick successive attacks.

Straight Sabres

These are fast-paced one-handed weapon types with more coverage area than Swords. They also deal slashing and thrusting attacks. 

Curved Sabres

These are one-handed fast-paced weapon types similar to the Straight Sabre that deals with sweeping, slashing, and thrusting attacks.

Dual Sabres

The more aggressive variant of the Straight Sabre that deals wider horizontal and vertical sweeping attacks. 

Glaives

These are two-handed slow-paced weapons that also deal sweeping attacks. Glaives are relatively trickier to master, given their slower attack rate, though once the player gets the hang of these, they can use them to deal some devastating damage. 

Halberds

These are fast-paced two-handed weapons that deal long-range piercing damage. 

Dual Halberds

Dual Halberds are relatively slow-paced two-handed weapons that deal with swirling uppercut-style attacks. They are also tricky to master and may take a while to get used to.

Staff

These are fast-paced one-handed weapons with long-range thrusting attacks. 

Spear

These are fast-paced one-handed weapons with long-range piercing attacks. 

Slashing Spear

As the name suggests, Slashing Spears is the two-handed slower variant of the regular Spear with sweeping style piercing attacks. 

Hammer

These are slow-paced two-handed weapon types that deal massive melee damage. Hammers are a great choice for taking down big enemies that aren't bosses. 

Pole Axe

These are the slower variant of the Hammer that deal massive damage from sweeping attacks. Pole Axe is also a great choice for hammering down big foes quickly.

Bow 

The primary long-ranged weapon type that can be used to target an enemy's weak spot and stagger them.

Crossbow

These are slow-firing high-damage weapon types great for taking out enemies from a distance, but only when there are no enemies nearby. 

Repeating Crossbow

As of this writing, we haven't encountered a Repeating Crossbow in the game. We will update this article once more info is available.
