League of Legends: Wild Rift is now onto v2.0 and Season 1 of the competitive calendar is just about to start. So it is time to get serious, we have been breaking down each champion showing you how to get the most out of each.

This time, we will delve into a somewhat peculiar champion, known for his high-impact shots, as well as for being a serial killer who only seeks one goal: to demonstrate his bloody and intimidating artistic vision to the world. Introducing Jhin, the Virtuoso.

Jhin: His active and passive skills

Thanks to his passive ability, Whisper, Jhin can fire high-impact basic attacks, at the cost of a fixed attack speed. Additionally, Whisper's fourth shot will deal critical damage, along with a movement speed bonus for Jhin.

Let's move on to his active skills:

• Dancing Grenade: Launches a magical explosive at an enemy target, which can bounce off up to four targets, making additional damage with each unit it kills.
• Deadly Flourish: Fires a single bullet with a longer range, which passes through minions and monsters, stopping with the first enemy it hits. The target will be immobilized if it was recently hit by allied attacks, lotus traps, or if it took damage from Jhin.
• Captive Audience: Sets an invisible lotus trap that activates when an enemy steps on it, slowing nearby enemies before dealing damage with a burst of petals.
• Ultimate - Curtain Call: Allows four super projectiles to be fired at extreme distance that pierce through minions and monsters, but stop at the first champion hit. Shots incapacitate, slow, and damage hit enemies, while the last shot can deal critical damage.

Recommended Runes and Spells for Jhin

While Jhin's movement speed remains fixed due to his passive, his great explosive power makes him a champion of care from start to finish, thanks to his great arsenal for any type of range and situations. These are his recommended runes:

• Fleet Footwork: By using basic attacks or abilities, you accumulate energy points. By accumulating 100 points, your next attack will heal you and increase your movement speed.
• Brutal: Grants bonus attack damage and armour penetration.
  Spirit Walker: Grants additional health and slow resistance.
• Manaflow Band: Increases your maximum mana by dealing damage to enemy champions.

Being played mostly in the bottom lane, his summoner spells are standard:

• Flash: As a champion with poor mobility out of combat, Flash serves as an escape tool when facing melee champions.
• Healing: A great emergency tool, both for its health recovery and the movement speed it grants.

The best items for Jhin

Being a champion with two offensive abilities, his items will be focused at increasing these statistics, in addition to helping with scaling for the mid and late game, and giving him more power of armour penetration and critical damage, getting enemies to be killed almost instantly.

• Infinity Edge: Jhin's quintessential item. Increases the probability and damage of critical attacks, synergizing with his passive and his Ultimate.
• Boots of Swiftness: Provides the highest amount of movement speed among the boot options, being crucial to Jhin’s siege. We recommend using them with the Stasis Enchant against high-damage champions or Quicksilver for crowd control.
• Rapid Firecannon: Dramatically increases basic attack range and critical strike chance.
• Phantom Dancer: Its passive grants a shield when the amount of life falls below 35%.
• Guardian Angel: Its reviving passive allows you to fully attack squarely, without risking giving away a kill along the way.

Finally, you can supplement this composition with Mortal Reminder, Youmuu's Ghostblade or Duskblade of Draktharr for more armour penetration, or with Death’s Dance or Statikk Shiv for more explosive damage.

Tips for Jhin’s play style

Since his release in early 2016, Jhin has stood out as one of the preferred champions for players inside and outside the competitive League of Legends, thanks to his great explosive damage and his very high pick and ban ratios, which has catapulted him as one of the flagship characters in the bottom lane.

While he can be a bit limited by his passive, which takes some of the offensive action away from him when he focuses on the attack, his critical attacks and powerful abilities make up for all of this.

To begin with, in the early game it’s best to farm patiently, keeping vision to the sides at all times in case of ambushes, since Jhin's poor mobility can be detrimental. For these cases, it’s best to have lotus traps ready in places where the enemy can intrude.

Be sure to use your Dancing Grenade to easily clear waves when minions are low on health and you're about to reload after the fourth shot. This way you can make the most of the available gold.

Likewise, it’s essential that you have good communication with your support since by giving you an entry, it will allow you to use your Deadly Flourish to paralyze an enemy, which you can take advantage of for ambushes of allies or unforeseen rotations that allow you to kill one or both lane enemies.

Your fourth shots are your most important resource, as they deliver the most damage available from Jhin, so you will have to think carefully when to use them and if the enemy is in range to take advantage of it. If not, use it to give your minions last-hits, just to not waste it.

Finally, when using your Curtain Call, try to be in an area where you have protection from structures or from your own allies, so when you have to use this, the enemies will not be able to take you by surprise and eliminate you easily. How this masterpiece ends now will only depend on you and your aim.
