The trailer for Slitterhead, the upcoming and first horror game by Bokeh Game Studios, has been leaked by the studio itself ahead of the intended premiere today at Summer Game Fest. The studio accidentally publicly posted the trailer on their YouTube channel, making it private soon after - but not before fans managed to download it for themselves. The trailer not only shows gameplay from the upcoming title, but also confirms an 8 November release date.
"How I'd describe it is if Dark Souls, Devil May Cry, Akira (1988) & Prototype had a baby, but with much weirder (& very interesting imo) monster design, & a gameplay mechanic where you possess NPCs in the environment, including animals," known leaker AestheticGamer/Dusk Golem said of the new footage.
Though fans have known of the game's existence for a few years now, there's been little news surrounding it up until the recent buzz surrounding its possible return at the Summer Game Fest 2024. The project is created by Keiichiro Toyama, who's known for making Silent Hill, and has been highly anticipated since its announcement three years ago.
Back in mid-May, Summer Game Fest revealed that one of its partners would be Bokeh Game Studios. Thus far, Slitterhead is the only game the studio has announced, which led many to correctly assume that it'd make an appearance at the event. Summer Game Fest will take place today, 7 June, starting at 2PM PT / 5PM ET / 10PM BST.
