Angry Birds was one of the original first big smartphone hits, almost 11 years ago, released in December 2009. At the time, the swine flu epidemic was in the news, so the staff decided to use pigs as the enemies of the birds.
The game quickly became a global phenomenon and was later introduced to other touchscreen smartphone operating systems, including Android, Symbian, and Windows Phone, as well as PC version.
In the past eleven years, we saw 25 Angry Birds games and their spin-offs, as well as two movies and several animated TV shows.
And now, thanks to Netflix, we are getting another animated series. It's called âAngry Birds: Summer Madness,â and it will have 40 11-minute episodes.
The show will follow Red, Bomb, and Chuck, "as well as a cast of brand new feathered friends, as tween birds at summer camp under the questionable guidance of their counsellor Mighty Eagle. Explosive antics, improbable pranks, and crazy summertime adventures see the birds pushing boundaries and breaking all the rules while fending off the brash and obnoxious pigs on the other side of the lake, who seem hell-bent on causing as much mayhem as possible," the announcement says.
Angry Birds: Summer Madness is set for a 2021 release.
