For a lot of small indie studios, events like PAX, GDC and EGX are bread and butter for their business. They offer them much-need exposure, un opportunity to make contacts, to talk with journalist and present them the game they otherwise maybe wouldn't know about. Simply put, it's almost free and the most efficient way to show their hard work to the audience.

Alas, an outbreak happened, and many such events were cancelled or postponed as a precaution and prevention measure. One such event was EGX Rezzed 2020, which should have taken place this weekend in London. More than a hundred indie games were supposed to be showcased during the event, with presentations, hands-on, interviews, round tables, etc.
And while nothing can make up for the live events and everything that goes with it, Valve decided to help all these indie titles at least somehow, by exposing all the games that should have been there. They created a special page on Steam, where they are showing all those games in once place, for people to discover them and find out about them more. It's not much, but it sure is a great guest.
Although indie titles are suffering from these event cancellations, the gaming industry as a whole saw an enormous surge, given that a lot of people are staying home and playing games. Last weekend Steam broke the record, with more than 22 million concurrent users, and we seriously think that that might happen again this weekend.
