NBA 2K22 is the latest title in the iconic basketball universe and has been released for PlayStation, PC, Nintendo and Xbox gameplay platforms. NBA 2K22 is designed to allow basketball enthusiasts to experience real NBA and WNBA environments by playing against authentic teams and players. In addition to this, players can build their own dream team in MyTEAM, using various basketball stars and legends.
Although players can either play solo or with other players, they may be wondering whether their friends will be able to play NBA 2K22 on a platform different from theirs. This is a valid question, too. In this case, you might be wondering, "Does NBA 2K22 support crossplay or does NBA 2K22 have cross-platform support?" Well, we have got you covered here, and you can find the answer to your question in the section below.
Does NBA 2K22 support crossplay or cross-platform?
Unfortunately, NBA 2K22 does not support crossplay and it seems as though 2K Games does not have any intention of introducing this level of support in the future either. The good news is, however, that the game does support cross-progression in MyTEAM across "generations of consoles from the same console family".
This means that if you are upgrading from either Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S, or from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, your progress will be saved and you won't need to start from the beginning.
The non-availability of cross-platform support has left a lot of players disappointed, however, we hope that 2K Games will introduce this feature sometime in the future. At least you can still enjoy the different modes of NBA 2K22 with your friends playing on the same platform as yours, in the interim.
In the meantime, be sure to have a look at our dedicated NBA 2K section, which includes information about all of the latest releases, news, guides, MyTeam tips and more.
