In a new story trailer, Sony and developer Sucker Punch have officially confirmed Ghost of Tsushima will release on 26th June.
The release date places it merely a month after fellow PlayStation exclusive The Last Of Us Part II on 29th May, so it’s certainly going to be an action-packed summer.
A new trailer gives us a fresh look at the action-adventure title, showing horseback rides, brutal kills and some stunning visuals.
An official synopsis for the title reads: “With Tsushima on the brink of destruction, Jin Sakai must sacrifice everything to defeat the ruthless Mongol invaders and protect what’s left of his home and people.
“As he embarks on an epic adventure for the freedom of Tsushima, he is forced to set aside samurai traditions and become a new kind of warrior.”
We last heard about Ghost of Tsushima back at The Game Awards last year, with the title boasting a large open world set in late 13th century Feudal Japan.
Developer Sucker Punch are primarily known for the Infamous and Sly Cooper franchises, so this marks an entirely new IP for the studio. It's been a long time coming too, with their last game Infamous First Light released in 2014.
Today we revealed the #GhostOfTsushima Special Edition and Collector's Edition, or if you prefer to go digital, the Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions!

The Special Edition comes in a steelbook case and features the in-game Hero of Tsushima mask and sword skin, Charm of Hachiman’s Favor, one technique point, the director’s commentary and a digital mini art book.

The biggest is the Collector’s Edition which comes bundled with a replica mask, a sashimono (war banner) which is 4.5 feet long, and a traditional-style furoshiki (wrapping cloth). It's pretty impressive, to say the least.
A UK price for the Collector's Edition is yet to be announced, although it’s priced at a whopping $169.99 in the US. You can check out more information here.
