Originally announced by Wargaming at The Game Awards 2024, Steel Hunters has been generating excitement ever since. Following a successful closed beta that gave players a taste of its mech-based team shooter action, the wait is finally over—Steel Hunters is now available in Early Access! If you’ve been eager to jump in, now is the perfect time.

Steel Hunters Early Access Details & What’s New

For those who missed the closed beta (or our awesome in-depth review), Steel Hunters is an action-packed mech hero shooter with a strong focus on teamwork and strategy, and now that Early Access has arrived it's tighter and more action-packed than ever. Early Access introduces three dynamic maps—Crimson Ridge, Maryland Heights, and Stonecutter Keep—each featuring destructible environments for added intensity.

The game also replaces Starfall Harvest with The Last Stand as its primary mode and introduces a streamlined System Tree, providing a single, powerful upgrade path for Hunters. Players will start with seven Hunters to unlock as they progress, with an eighth set to join the roster later in Early Access and even more Hunters to come in the future.

Additionally, progress is now permanent—no more resets as of April 2—so everything players earn will carry over into the full launch. Steel Hunters is also debuting its first-ever Battle Pass, running until April 29, 2025, offering free rewards, exclusive skins, boosters, and credits.

As Publishing Director Dan Tanasescu put it: “The first season of Steel Hunters Early Access will launch on April 2 with zero monetization, no planned content resets, and no restrictions. Players can progress freely and unlock everything the game has to offer, including the Season 0 Premium Battle Pass, without spending a cent.” And they weren't lying.
