Close to the Sun and Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments are free on Epic Store

At this point, it is basically a Thursday tradition to write an article about free games on Epic Store. This time around, two new games are free: Close to the Sun and Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments.

Close to the Sun is a first-person horror adventure from the last year. 

It's the late 19th century and we play as a journalist Rose Archer on a mission to save her sister Ada. In this alternative universe Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison, famous scientists and inventors, are fighting for technological predominance in the world. The setting of the game is colossal sea cruiser called "the Helios", operated by Tesla and it serves as a hub for the world's most successful scientists and inventors.

If you liked BioShock series, you will love this game. We especially recommend it if you love deep and engaging narrative, combined with immersive atmosphere and impressive locations to explore. But don't expect tight and polished gameplay, which can be frustrating sometimes.

Second free game is Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments. If you're a fan of adventures and solving mysteries, there's not much to say here - just take the game and start playing it! Adventures with Sherlock Holmes are always fun, and here it's no difference! The great freedom of action in Crimes & Punishments allows you to conduct your investigations in the manner you deem appropriate. Use skills of detection for which Sherlock is famous, choose the avenues of enquiry you wish to pursue, interrogate your suspects and, from your deductions, name the guilty parties. Studio Frogwares is famous for their great Sherlock Holmes games, and you would surely want to play other adventures from this series when you finish Crimes and Punishments
