The Back 4 Blood closed beta, for those who pre-ordered the game, went live on 5th August 2021. As a tonne of players attempted to jump into Turtle Rock Studios' new co-op FPS to slay some Ridden, not everything went as planned. From beta codes not working to server disconnection issues and more. These are, of course, just teething issues, and there are many enjoying the Back 4 Blood closed beta right now. Saying that, however, some players on Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X systems are running into an issue where the Back 4 Blood beta simply does not want to download.
Back 4 Blood beta: How to download on Xbox
If you've already got access to the Back 4 Blood beta and want to start playing it on your Xbox One or Xbox Series S/X, but can't download it, then there are some fixes you can try. Before we get to the steps, remember that you can also queue up the download via the beta page here.
In the early hours of the morning on 6th August 2021, Turtle Rock Studios provided those on Xbox with a fix for the Back 4 Blood closed beta not downloading.
First, try the steps as outlined by the developers below.
While some gamers still can't manage to download the Back 4 Blood beta on Xbox after these steps have been followed, there are more steps Turtle Rock Studios suggest you take.
- Via your Xbox dashboard, head to "settings" then "General", followed by selecting "Power Mode and startup" then selecting "Full shutdown".
- Wait a minute.
- Restart your Xbox One or Xbox Series S/X.
- Select "My Games and App" then "Full Library" and try to download the "Back 4 Blood Beta (demo) file once again.
- Monitor your download progress from the "Manage" tab under "My Games and Apps".
Following these steps exactly should allow you to start slaying Ridden with some friends as quickly as your internet connection allows it.
