Coming in as a shock, TenZ, the star Valorant pro player, has announced his retirement from competitive play. He will be focusing on content creation with Sentinels moving forward.
TenZ revealed that he had already made this decision in the beginning of the 2024 VCT season and it is because competitive has consumed so much of his time.
"This wasn't an easy decision for me to make, but it is one that I made at the start of this year, where I told myself that this is kind of my last year," TenZ said.
I'm grateful for this incredible journey, and it's time to start a new one.

TenZ has been nothing but an icon and a legend who introduced us to Valorant competitive, including me. He started off his career with Sentinels by winning VCT Masters Reykjavík 2021 and said goodbye to the team after lifting VCT Masters Madrid 2024 trophy.

It is definitely an emotional moment that we will not see TenZ on stage in Sentinels jersey anymore, but he will be doing a lot more streams, so that's good news. Sentinels hasn't announced a replacement for TenZ in their Valorant roster for the next season yet.
