One of the most unpredictable tournaments in Valorant's history is over and EDward Gaming has emerged as the winner of Valorant Champions 2024, becoming the first Chinese team to win an international Valorant trophy. They defeat Team Heretics in a five map series by 3-1 and ZmjjKK became the MVP of the event by dropping 111 kills with a 309 ACS.
smoggy (bursting into tears) said, "It was not easy for us [to win]. From Istanbul to here, it was freaking hard for everyone. It's because all of the effort from all of my teammates and I thank everyone of them."

While Herectics were off to a dominant start by winning Haven by 13-6, EDG showed that they are here to fight as they took the series to the third map by destroying the opponents on Sunset.
No map was one sided after that, the first halves on both Lotus and Bind ended up at 6-6. However, Lotus was secured by EDG, thanks to their dominating attack side. Bind on the other hand, was a close affair, EDG was able to comeback from 12-8 to 12-11 but despite an ace by ZmjjKK, they were not able to take it to overtime because of a molly by Boo.

The final map of the series, Abyss, felt like EDG's comfort zone until 11-4 as an insane comeback by Heretics won them five rounds back to back to close the gap to 11-9. It was a broken buy for EDG; however, ZmjjKK took everything in his hands to pull of a 4k to put 12 on the board and break Heretics' momentum.
