Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update Release Times Confirmed

UPDATE - CD Projekt has confirmed when you can start downloading The Witcher 3 Next-Gen update to your PS5 and Xbox Series X.

The Witcher 3 Next-Gen update release time is 4pm PT / 7pm ET / midnight GMT on December 13th.

Marcin Momot, the Global Community Director at CD Projekt has also confirmed there will be no pre-load for the update, and when asked why, explained: "Since this is a patch, we're not planning a preload."

Original Story - CD PROJEKT RED has announced that 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' next-gen update is coming out on December 14, 2022, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. 

This update is stated to enhance the game with "the power of next-gen consoles and modern PC hardware." As of now, this update will only apply to the digital version of the game, however, the developers also stated that a physical edition would be released sometime in the future.

The update will be free for anyone who has purchased the game previously, and a gameplay reveal will be broadcast on the official CD PROJEKT RED Twitch channel sometime next week.

The Witcher 3 Next-Gen update will include "dozens of visual, performance, and technical enhancements over the original." Check out the list below of confirmed updates that will be coming to the game.

• A variety of mods integrated into the experience. 
• New additional content inspired by The Witcher series from Netflix.

These are but some of the updates coming to The Witcher 3, and more will be revealed in the aforementioned REDstreams event on Twitch.

Additionally, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will also receive an update. This update will feature similar gameplay improvements as well as new content based on The Witcher Netflix series. More details about this update will be announced soon. Previous REDstreams events have lasted anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour, so it is likely that the developers will have a lot to talk about.
