Magnetite is a metal in Subnautica: Below Zero that has alluded some players in the early going of the game’s life cycle. It’s somewhat tricky to locate but it’s needed in some key crafting recipes, leading players to go to great lengths to find it.
Luckily, there are a few biomes in Below Zero that holds the metal. Once players find these biomes, they’ll have an endless amount of magnetite at their disposal. However, you won’t need a ton of it, as Below Zero only has a few recipes that need the metal.
Here’s where you can find magnetite in Subnautica: Below Zero and what recipes require it.
Finding magnetite in Subnautica: Below Zero
The best location you can find magnetite in is the Deep Lilypads Cave. It’s found in ore veins in this location as well as on the walls and ceiling as a single resource. You can just go pick it up and then look for more. Magnetite is a pointy-looking gray metal that’s pretty easy to miss, so make sure you keep a stern eye out.
