Still Wakes The Deep Team Releases Production Documentary

The team behind the upcoming horror title Still Wakes The Deep has released an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the QA and production work behind-the-scenes of the game. The mini-documentary premiered at The Horror Game Awards 2024, and is available on YouTube. It features Still in the Deep team members Bruno Julien (executive producer), Tom Grant, Seb Axel (QA testers), and Jacob Jackman as they discuss their experiences working on the game.

The mini-documentary is five minutes long and gives a thorough look into what it takes to create a game like Still Wakes The Deep from alpha all the way up until a full release, with a peek into the day of the developers and the many roles they take on behind the scenes. 

"We track everything...everything you can imagine that can be tracked, I've got a spreadsheet for it," said associate producer Jacob Jackman in the mini-documentary.

They also explained that while it's motivating to achieve milestones and successes when making a game like Still Wakes The Deep, QA testers also play a major role in the process - and there's a lot of bug-fixing and problem-solving to be done every step of the way.

"Everything is on fire, and for us, that's normal," Julien explained. "When your job is problem-solving, there's no end to the problems," Jackman added.

Still Wakes The Deep is set to release on 18 June 2024 - that's just a little over a month away, so it makes sense that developers are ramping up marketing materials for the game. For now, fans can check out the trailer and documentary for more information about the upcoming title.
