Nix has gained immense popularity as another adorable companion, showing his loyalty and strength throughout their adventures with Kay Vess. As such, there will be opportunities where Nix will display their prowess as an expert Treasure Hunter, but it will demand them to make Nix happy!

This specific objective is an unlock condition for a unique Nix ability that can be acquired through the Expert system. Players looking to keep this lovable Merqaal companion the happiest critter in the galaxy, we've outlined a few tips and tricks to achieve this in Star Wars Outlaws.

How To Make Nix Happy In Star Wars Outlaws? Tips & Tricks

As Kay Vess' adorably cute yet trusted Merqaal companion, Nix possesses unique abilities and instincts that can be of great value during combat and exploration. After spending some time on the planet Toshara, eavesdropping on private conversations, discovering new locales, and completing quests, Kay will receive Intel from Danka, which, following them, progresses two Expert Intel chain quests.

One lead specifically is the Mechanic Expert, Selo Rovak, who, after the Intel chain quest, Kay can begin progressing in the related abilities and upgrades she can acquire from Selo. Treasure Hunter is one of six abilities and upgrades that can be unlocked from Selo, which, once acquired, lets Nix provide more audiovisual clues whenever there are Containers nearby, and when in range, they'll be highlighted.

The unlock conditions to acquire this ability are as follows:

  • Find Containers (0/10)
  • Find different ways to make Nix happy (0/4)
  • Use Nix to fetch an item

The second condition requires Kay to find exciting ways to bring a smile to Nix's face, and there are a bunch of ways to achieve this condition. The first and most straightforward way is to pet Nix, which is achieved by entering Nix Mode and giving the adorable critter a much-needed head scratch.

Another way is sampling delectable dishes at the four street food vendors when engaging in the Galactic Street Food Challenge minigame. This is doubly rewarding as not only can they gain a Nix Treat, which can be equipped to Nix, but enjoying a meal with them indeed makes this rascal happy.

On the subject of The Mechanic Expert NPC, Selo, after finishing her Intel chain quest, they'll automatically unlock the Speed Boost ability for the Speeder, which, when triggered, grants the vehicle a temporary speed burst. There's nothing that Nix enjoys more than going full throttle and making high jumps when using the Speed Boost ability, which is also an unlock condition for the Speeder Jump ability.

Other ways to bring happiness and joy to Nix are using the Grappling Hook tool to swing between platforms or scale buildings and cliffs and, finally, sabotaging alarms and interacting with various panels. This should help them complete this condition and unlock the Treasure Hunter ability, which Nix can use to better track down items and Containers in the open world.
