Following its release last month, developer Massive Entertainment has been working extensively to resolve launch day and post-launch issues with the action-adventure game Star Wars Outlaws. This saw a hotfix rolled out for PC days after its release, which resolved early graphics issues, and it seems that a patch update will be coming soon.

This news was made by Massive Entertainment's Creative Director Julian Gerighty, who had recently spoken with GamesRadar+, where he revealed an update that will be launching in the coming days. One of the biggest issues that the forthcoming update addresses is in the early portion of the game, which will mediate issues relating to failing stealth sections or quests.

According to the aforementioned interview with Gerighty, the game's "difficulty spikes" were one area the developer viewed as not working as intended, especially during the early quests. Massive's creative director singled out the quests in Mirogana City as where the game got "incredibly punishing" for players regarding the insta-fail stealth sections of the quests, which he states is a mistake that will be improved on.

"I don't think it means removing the fail state completely, but I do think there are millions of low-hanging fruits where we can make it so much more enjoyable and understandable." While Gerighty continued that the intention behind these stealth sections was to design a "sort of tension" during these climatic moments, it's apparent to them that this didn't work out according to their vision or plan.

And today, I think it feels unfair. And believe it or not, this wasn't our intention. This is more of something that crept in in the last week or so and that we're correcting already for a patch that's coming out maybe in 10 days.

As such, Gerighty confirmed that a patch update for Star Wars Outlaws is arriving within the next week or so, it's unknown how broad these changes will impact these quests or sections. Likewise, it's positive to be aware that Massive Entertainment are listening to its player base relating to gameplay and performance issues and are working on bringing these fixes to consoles and PCs soon.
