Slenderman fans rejoice, the Creepypasta legend is back and better than ever: Slender: The Arrival's 10th Anniversary Update, featuring S: The Lost Chapters, is now live on PC and consoles. Plays are finally able to experience the terror of Slenderman in all-new updated graphics while playing through a fresh new chapter of the story.
The update features a total visual overhaul, support for multiple languages, and the ability to seamlessly switch between the updated game and the original. The new chapter is called "Nightmare," in which players explore the story of Charlie Matheson's father and his descent into madness.
"Every shadow, every material, every model and hair-raising encounter with the mysterious Slender Man is rerendered in stunning detail," developers said of the updated graphics, which were rendered in Unreal Engine 5.
While the 10th Anniversary Update is the first new content in Slender: The Arrival in a decade, it seems like it won't be the game's last major update. Developers also provided a roadmap for the next year, which includes an upcoming multiplayer mode, a cross-platform mod kit, and a trio of brand-new chapters.
"The story of Slender: The Arrival is not done yet, with new regions to explore, characters to meet, and horrors to survive," developers said in a blog post outlining the 10th Anniversary Update and the roadmap for the following year.
For those who are interested in giving Slender's new 10th Anniversary Update a try, the game is offering a sale on the Steam store starting at 1 PM on 18 October. The new chapter comes free for those who already own the game on PC, but console players will need to purchase it separately.
