In addition to using the most powerful units, having the right trait can make or break your gameplay by affecting the unit's damage, attack speed, range, and utility. While rarer traits are usually better, it's not always the case.
That's why I've put together this tier list so you know which are the best traits to use in SpongeBob Tower Defense.

What Is The Best Trait In SpongeBob Tower Defense? | Roblox
The best trait in SpongeBob Tower Defense has got to be Neptune's Crown. It unlocks a second trait slot for the unit equipped and applies two random traits (no duplicates). Essentially, it means the unit can have two buffs at the same time. The only catch is that it depends on which traits you get.
For example, if you get Scurvy as one of your random traits then you're better off using the next best trait: Secret Formula. Speaking of which, this runner up is great for DPS because it amplifies your damage by 50% and gives you +50% range. It also reduces your SPA by 50%, meaning you hit faster and harder!
