February is one of the most festive months both in the world and in the Pokémon community, especially this year thanks to the franchise's 25th-anniversary celebrations, as well as the usual Lunar New Year and Valentine's Day festivities.
To help navigate these events Niantic has been releasing detailed schedules for what players can expect and in their latest, they take a look at how Valentine's Day will look in Pokémon GO.
Valentine's Day celebrations

The Valentine's Day celebration will run from 14th February at 1 pm to 18th February at 8 pm, local time.
During this event, Munna and Musharna will make their debut along with new Pokémon-themed items in the in-game store.
In addition, some species may appear more frequently in the wild, these being:
- Nidoran♀
- Nidoran♂
- Plusle
- Minun
- Volbeat
- Illumise
- Luvdisc
- Feebas
Many other Pokémon off this list will appear as well, with Niantic keeping it a secret until the day of the event. In addition to these, Eevee, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Togepi, Luvdisc, Munna, Woobat and Cottonee will hatch with a higher probability of 5 km eggs.
Available Raids and Missions

Continuing with the special raids, the following will be active during the event period:
- One-star raids: Ralts, Volbeat, Illumise, Feebas, Munna, and Espurr.
- Three-star raids: Togetic, Espeon, Umbreon, Gardevoir, Gallade, and Alomomola.
- Five-star raids: Latias and Latios.
- Mega Raids: Mega Pidgeot, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Ampharos.
Moving on to the missions, Professor Willow will activate a field research exclusive to the event. Upon completion, players will be rewarded with special encounters, with Pokémon like Ralts, Volbeat, Illumise, Spinda with a heart pattern, and Alomomola, among others.
Along with this, there will be a Valentine’s Day-themed Collection Challenge where you will have to capture the following, to receive five Silver Pinap Berries, a Lucky Egg, and an Egg Incubator.

Finally, Niantic will activate certain temporary bonuses, which include a higher chance to become Lucky Friends with your friends, a higher chance to trade Lucky Pokémon, a bigger range of distance for trades, and a greater chance of receiving Berries from Gifts.
In addition, all players who evolve a Kirlia during the event will be able to get a Gardevoir or a Gallade that knows Synchronoise.
