As players continue to progress through the main story of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, more and more questions are popping up about how to complete the National Dex. This is the upgraded version of the Pokédex that gives players access to hundreds of more Pokémon throughout Sinnoh. If players want to fill it up entirely, they’ll need to learn about different evolution methods and items.
One of the items that players will need if they want to catch every Pokémon in Sinnoh is the Sun Stone. This evolutionary stone is used to evolve two different Pokémon and can be difficult to find in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Finding the Sun Stone in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Currently, there’s only two ways to get a Sun Stone in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The first way requires you to head to the Grand Underground and start mining in the walls. Mining in the underground is a long and tedious process but it’s the only way to get many evolutionary stones in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
On your underground map, look for yellow blips along the walls. These are the locations that you can mine at. Just press A on the spot on the wall with a blip and you’ll get the option to mine it. You’ll have to keep doing this until you acquire at least one Sun Stone.
The second way to get the Sun Stone is by catching wild Solrock and seeing if they’re holding it. If they are, then you can add it to your bag. There’s a low chance every wild Solrock holds one of the stones.
With the stone, you can choose to evolve Gloom into Bellossom or Sunkern into Sunflora. Both Pokémon are impossible to acquire otherwise.
