In a post on the official Pokémon website, it was announced “out of an abundance of caution” four upcoming Pokémon Regional Championship tournaments have been cancelled.
The tournaments cancelled are the Mississauga/Toronto Regional Championships scheduled for 13-15 March, the Charlotte Regional Championships, the Regional de Pokémon Joinville em Santa Catarina 2020, and Salt Lake City Pokémon Regional Championships.
You can check out the full list of and dates of the affected events below.
- Mississauga/Toronto Regional Championships - 13-15th March
- Charlotte Regional Championships - 20-22nd March
- Regional de Pokémon de Joinville em Santa Catarina 2020 - 28-29th March

This announcement follows the cancellation of the Pokémon Europe International Championships which were originally scheduled for 17-19th April in Berlin, Germany.
For now, the North America International Championships in June are still set to go ahead - although they’re closely monitoring the situation moving forward.
The cancellation could also spell bad news for the Pokémon World Championships 2020, set to take place in London from 14-16th August.
