In recent weeks, Pokémon GO players have been able to enjoy special periods in which they have celebrated the arrival of Spring and Easter, in addition to the Rivals’ Week that is currently taking place. Along with the arrival of the recently announced Friendship Day, the new Pokémon GO Sustainability Week is coming to the game and this time around, it will be more focused on nature and caring for the environment, thanks to a collaboration with Niantic's Sustainability Campaign.
Pokémon GO Sustainability Week: Featured Pokémon
As part of the event news, many Pokémon focused on biodiversity and environmental impact will be appearing more frequently around the map, highlighting among these the debut of Binacle, the Two-Handed Pokémon.

The following are some of the featured Pokémon that will have a higher spawn rate in the wild:
- Grimer
- Drilbur
- Ferroseed
- Trubbish, having a higher rate of appearing in its Shiny form
Additionally, these Pokémon will have a bigger chance of hatching from 5km eggs throughout the event:
- Diglett
- Tangela
- Goldeen
- Budew
- Cherubi
- Finneon
- Drilbur
More Featured Pokémon will be revealed throughout the event.
Pokémon GO Sustainability Week: Raids and Quests
Going with the theme of the event, Pokémon such as Vileplume, Alolan Exeggutor, Trubbish, Binacle, among others, may appear in some of the main raids of the game, which can help you complete the event-exclusive Field Researches.

If you manage to do so, you can get different rewards to increase your inventory, in addition to obtaining guaranteed encounters with some of the featured Pokémon such as Cottonee, Chespin, Binacle and others.

Last but not least, you will be able to collaborate with other players from other Niantic games such as Ingress and Wizards Unite, to unlock special rewards based on level by participating in the Niantic Sustainability Campaign in the real world. Depending on the global activity, the following will be obtained:
- Tier 1 (2,500 activations): Five-star raids will appear more often.
- Tier 2 (5,000 activations): A free bundle containing three Remote Raid Passes will be available in the shop. The rewards from Tier 1 will remain active.
- Tier 3 (10,000 activations): A 2× Catch XP bonus will be live. The rewards from Tiers 1 and 2 will remain active.
With the in-game store, you will also find a free Sustainability Week t-shirt for your avatar, to be part of both the activities of this event and to show your support for the environment.
The Pokémon GO Sustainability Week will be active from 20th April at 10 am to 25th April at 8 pm local time, while the Niantic Sustainability Campaign challenge will be available on the last day of the event from 10 am.
